On 1 November 2008, ENVISION, in close co-operation with the Bureau of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, New Delhi, launched Global Tibetan Professionals Network (GTPN) to provide a platform for Tibetan professionals worldwide to network with each other and find creative ways of contributing to the community. Through this network, successful Tibetans from diverse professions around the world are able to not only support one another by sharing ideas, information and resources amongst themselves, but also offer invaluable mentoring to young Tibetans aspiring to become professionals; with the wider objective of sustaining Tibetan identity and strengthening the Tibetan voice. There are currently four operational chapters (Delhi, Bangalore, Toronto and the US), with further ones in development.

Members of these chapters are already mentoring Tibetan students in schools and colleges.

WHY JOIN GTPN?

Networking opportunities: As a Tibetan professional, GTPN enables you to network with others, exchange ideas, information and resources, and discuss career interests and challenges with those from a wide spectrum of fields. As a young aspiring professional you can receive advice, support and guidance from successful Tibetan professionals sharing their skills, knowledge and experiences; via one to one mentorship, meetings and workshops. Connect and contribute to the community: Often many Tibetan professionals wishing to contribute to the community do not know where to begin. GTPN can help open communication channels and connect you to the community, whilst supporting your involvement in its development.

GTPN aims to establish links with the Central Tibetan Administration in Dharamsala as well as other Tibetan institutes and schools to explore meaningful ways of contributing to the community.
